2012 membership fees become due in January
2012 this year at the time of the AGM. All members who renew
before the end of January 2012 will receive a £5 discount
on their membership fees.

Internationale Kampioenschappen van Woesten 2011

Southdown Velo's Tim Costello finished
second overall in the Internationale Kampioenschappen van
Woesten 2011 2011 held in West Flanders.
Tim finished first in the time trial
and eigth in the road race held on narrow and twisty farm
lanes.
It was his sixth participation in this
event which has been running for over twenty-five years and
is promoted by the WC MeiboomSpurters.

Coaching day at Portsmouth's Mountbatten Centre

Southdown Velo's Club Coach, Paul O'Donovan,
organised a successful coaching day at the Mountbatten Centre.
The track was hired for the exclusive
use of the club and was intended to improve riders' ability
to ride in a group in a car free environment.
The consensus was that the day was a
success and Paul intends a repeat session on Saturday, 23
July 2011

Alderney wins on the IOM. Oscar Warrington leads Angmering
series

Demonstrating the depth of talent in
Southdown Velo's youth team, Alderney Baker scored a fantastic
win in the Isle Of man Youth Tour.
At the end of the three day event Alderney
was awarded both the green jersey for points and the pink
jersey for the overall winner of the under 10 girls.
The club's youths Oscar Warrington, Erin
Baker, Connor Innes, Alderney Baker, Harry Dridge, Ryan Darwen,
Alex and Isaac Jolley are flying the club's colours every
Monday at Angmering Raceway. They hold the top four places
overall with Oscar Warrington leading overall.

Erin Baker wins the Surrey League youth championship

| Alderney and Erin Baker have won the
Surrey League youth championships |
Southdown Velo's Erin Baker has won
the season long Surrey League youth championship.
Erin beat over 100 hundred riders to
win this prestigious title.
His sister Alderney was first girl and
took the prize for that category.
Southdown Velo had 13 youths riding for
them this year at Goodwood motor racing circuit, Angmering
Raceway, Portsmouth's Mountbatten Centre and other circuits.
Between them they scored numerous wins.
